THE LADIES ENSEMBLE

 

 Music from all periods, classical or popular, for any and all occasions-openings, concerts of classic music, receptions, ceremonies, cultural events and weddings... This brand new all-girl group consists young and beautiful professional musicians - members of  Slovak philharmonic orchestra, Slovak national theatre orchestra, Slovak radio orchestra .

 The  Ladies ensemble will show you that classical music is never boring, but always full of  life and joy! The Ladies ensemble's repertoire is wide and it covers everything from the Baroque music ( A. Vivaldi, J.S.Bach, G. F. Hӓndel ), Classicism  ( W.A. Mozart, L.van Beethoven, J. Haydn ),and Romanticism  ( A. Dvořák, F. Schubert, J. Brahms, P.I. Thaikovski , A. Piazzolla) to waltzes and operettas ( J. Strauss, F.Lehár ), Movie Soundtracks ( Titanic, Pirates of  the Caribbean, James Bond, The Godfather, Gladiator, Twilight ...)  musicals ( West side story, Hello Dolly, My fair Lady ,Cats...),but also arrangements of  jazz standards, pop and rock  songs ( the Beatles, ABBA, Queen, Led  Zeppelin, Elvis Presley,Guns N ´Roses, Aerosmith, Michael Jackson, Adele, Elton John, Metallica,  and many others. )The Ladies ensemble performs  as a chamber orchestra or string quartet and quintet.

 

In January 2016, members of The Ladies Ensemble played with great success the premiere of the operette Der Graf von Luxemburg by Franz Lehar in cooperation with the Colorato Theater at the New Stage in Bratislava. Other performances of the operetta are held in slovak towns in Prešov, Košice and Bojnice Cultural Summer. Among the interesting events where the Ladies Ensemble performed, was the festive evening of the National Highway Company, the National Assembly of Mayors and Mayors at Štrbské Pleso, the Night of Museums in Bratislava, the event of Škoda Slovakia, the ceremonial opening ceremony of the International Medical Symposium in the historic building of the National Council of the SR, Karloveský ples . As a 30-members chamber orchestra performed The Ladies Ensemble at the Bratislava Ball in Slovak Philharmonic concert hall and Ball Gala Night of  Fincentrum company  in the Old Bratislava Market in 2017, accompanied by soloists Mária Čírová, Patricia Janečková, Jozef Hollý and La Gioia trio. In the same year, The Ladies Ensemble performed in Sazburg at a concert organized by the Slovak Institute. In 2016 and 2017 they have successfully performed several concerts as part of the popular chamber cycle - Music in the park in collaboration with the Viva Musica Festival. In 2018 The Ladies Ensemble performed as chamber orchestra with big sucess in 53rd JOINT MEETING of the Council of European Development Bank. The Ladies Ensemble Orchestra played with choir Technik and has performed together Magnificat of english composer John Rutter in 2018.

Anežka Kara – Drmolová , artistic leader of The Ladies Ensemble , was born in 1984. She is a member of the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra and principal second violin in Hilaris Chamber Orchestra. She studied the violin under M. Karlíkova, Z.Gavorníkova - Paštékova, P. Bogacz, R. Mareček, and A. Vizváry at the Bratislava Conservatoire, the Christian Conservatoire, and at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava. She was awarded multiple prizes at home and at international violin competitions (1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in the International Contest of Bohdan Warchal-Talents for Europe, Honorable Mention of 1st grade – Kocian´s Competition in Ústí nad Orlicí in Cuech republic...). As a soloist she has performed with Capella Istropolitana (R. Mareček), then with chamber orchestra Archi di Slovakia Žilina (F. Figura), and the Slovak Philharmonic (B. Režucha). From 1995 to 2000 she was a member of piano quartet Musica Domestica, where she performed with her sister E. Podolská and father J. Drmola. In 2002 she attended the courses of Collegium Musicum of chamber and orchestral in German Pommersfelden.

As a member of the International Youth Orchestra "Young Sound Forum of Central Europe" she engaged the tour in Japan in 2005. In years 2003 - 2009 she was a member of the Albrecht quartet, with which she participated in international master classes Prague - Vienna - Budapest under the guidance of renowned professors and members of the Amadeus, Bartok and Smetana Quartets. Within these classes they received second place for the interpretation of the Janáček Quartet. She was a concertmaster of Children and Youth Orchestra Harmony (1997 - 2002),  of Chamber Orchestra of Bratislava Conservatory (1999) and chamber orchestra of Academy of Performing Arts (2008). As chamber musician she has performed in Hungary, Austria, Czech Republic, Poland, England, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Germany. As orchestral player she has performed in Sultante of Oman, China, Japan, South Korea, the Canary Islands, Azerbaidzhan and EU countries. Since 2007 she is a member of the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra. She has collaborated with orchestras such as Academy Chamber Orchestra, Bruno Walter Symphony Orchestra, the Slovak Chamber Orchestra of B. Warchal, Bratislava Chamber Soloists ...
